When my mother was no longer able to care for herself at home we were faced with a real problem. Mom was adamant that she wouldn't go to a nursing home and we insisted she had to be safe. That was when we were first introduced to Wendy and A Caring Touch. From the beginning Wendy understood the problem and helped us find ways to resolve it to satisfy Mom's desire to stay in her apartment, and our need to have her safe. As Mom's health declined, Wendy and staff made the necessary adjustments and took over more and more of her care. We had around the clock CNAs who were conscientious and kind. They became Mom's extended family and we relied on them to care for her as we would when we couldn't be there. Mom's brittle diabetes was a challenge for her to control for so many years and the CNAs understood her need to still feel in control. They monitored her closely and responded to her needs. They were very creative in finding ways to entice her to eat and they had the patience of saints when she didn't want to cooperate. We could not have done it without them.
